Ottavia Giola is a photographer and art director from Turin, Italy. Her work delves into themes of vulnerability, desire, and self-perception, often blurring the lines between personal narrative and universal emotion. With a strong emphasis on portraiture, editorial storytelling, and atmosphere, her images capture fleeting moments of authenticity where tension and beauty coexist.
Ottavia graduated in 2021 with a degree in Communication Design from IAAD – Istituto d’Arte Applicata e Design. That same year, she began working as an art director at the renowned advertising agency Armando Testa, where she contributed to international campaigns including Peuterey’s new collection and the Lavazza Calendar “YES, We’re Open!”. Simultaneously, she began developing her voice as a freelance photographer, focusing on portraiture and fashion.
In 2023, Ottavia was awarded the Executive Director Fellowship and attended the International Center of Photography’s One-Year Certificate Program in Creative Practices in New York City. Her work has been featured in renowned publications such as Vogue, Forbes, The Guardian, and Este País, and has been exhibited in both the United States and Brazil — including Common Thread in New York City and group shows in São Paulo.
She is currently based in New York City.
